The 2025 STEINWAY PIANO COMPETITION, is open to pianists ages 18 and under who are residents of Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa in Canada. It is an extension of our unwavering commitment to pursuing superior artistic expression through classical piano performance.
There will be two regions in the competition: In-Person (Toronto) and Online (Vancouver/Calgary/Ottawa) each will have four solo divisions for all eligible applicants. Applicants can apply only for one division in the region they reside according to the age stipulation. Each participant can only register for one region.
Based on age as of January 1, 2025
Division I: Aged 6 and under
Division II: Aged 7-9
Division III: Aged 10-13
Division IV: Aged 14-18
1. Five awards for each division in all regions: Overall, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merit.
2. Awards ceremony and winners concert.
3. Professional adjudicators.
4. All winners will receive a participation certificate. Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will receive a medal and the Merit winners will receive a ribbon. Overall will receive a trophy.
5. The opportunity to be nominated to apply for Steinway Standards of Excellence Awards for Young Artists.
6. The opportunity to be nominated to apply for Steinway Young Artist for those winners 16 and older.
