Dr. Leonard Gilbert

Steinway Artist

Born 1990 in Toronto, Canada, Leonard Gilbert is renowned for his sensitive touch, insightful playing as well as technical command. In addition to being a four-time national first prize winner of the Canadian Music Competition, Leonard came to the attention of audiences after his sweeping win at the Third Canadian Chopin Competition (2010)- capturing First Prize as well as all special prizes-“Best Mazurka” and “Best Polonaise”. In addition to numerous other awards in Canada and abroad, Leonard qualified for the second stage and was the only Canadian accepted to the 16th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in 2011.

Leonard’s expressive playing and extraordinary musicianship has led him to perform in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. His performances have been featured on Classical 96.3FM, and he was recorded live in 2014. Leonard was designated by Steinway & Sons as Young Steinway Artist in 2011.

Leonard studied in Toronto with Canadian pianist Patricia Parr, and Professor Menahem Pressler at Indiana University. A recipient of both Music Dean’s and Indiana University’s Distinction Scholarships, Leonard was awarded the Performer’s Certificate in special recognition of his musical understanding and artistry.

As an adjudicator, Leonard has served as a jury member for competitions at the local, provincial, national, and international levels. Leonard currently serves on the board of directors for the Toronto Summer Music Festival and is vice president of the Canadian Chopin Society.

Dr. Adam Piotr Zukiewicz

Steinway Artist

Adam Piotr Żukiewicz is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed concert pianist. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Toronto and Masters of Music degree from Indiana University. He has also studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, UK, and was a music scholar at the United World College of the Adriatic in Duino, Italy. His mentors and teachers include Arnaldo Cohen, Jerome Lowenthal, Vanessa Latarche, James Parker, Marietta Orlov, Dario de Rosa, Alberto Miodini, and Paweł Zawadzki.

Competition successes include several first prizes in competitions in Poland, First Prize at the 2012 Shean Piano Competition in Canada, First Prize at the 2011 TD Canada Trust Music Competition, and Second Prize at the 13th Pacific Piano Competition in 2011 in Richmond, BC. Mr. Żukiewicz is also a medalist of the 2014 Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona, Spain, and received First Prize Awards at the 2024 Virtuoso International Music Awards in the Piano and Chamber Music categories.

Mr. Żukiewicz served as a Resident Faculty Pianist at the International Music Festival of the Adriatic in Duino (Italy), and is a founder and the Artistic Director of the Intercollegiate Piano Competition of the West, and Beethoven in the Rockies: Concert Series. He is a Steinway Artist.
